Enhanced Cement Squeeze

Perforating and squeezing cement to remediate annular leakage can be complex, expensive and unsuccessful, particularly in cases where methane flow is caused by “micro-annular” leakage. While cement squeezes can be effective, operators have no control over where the cement travels outside the casing.

Using CET, expansions placed above and below the interval to be sealed by squeezing can be isolated with the expansions acting as a form of external casing packer. This will confine the cement squeeze to the desired interval thereby increasing the likelihood of a successful seal on the first attempt.
